In a world that constantly asks us to move faster, produce more, and stay connected all the time, it can be difficult to find a place where you can truly slow down.
For many wellness practitioners, coaches, creatives, and entrepreneurs, the challenge isn’t just the work itself, it’s the constant responsibility of holding space for others. Supporting clients, leading retreats, building programs, and managing businesses can be deeply fulfilling, but it can also leave very little time to pause and reconnect with yourself.
This is exactly why we created the Island Residency at The Lighthouse Retreat on Little Corn Island.
A Different Kind of Caribbean Retreat
Little Corn Island is not your typical Caribbean destination. There are no cars, no large resorts, and no crowded beach clubs. Life here moves at a slower, more intentional rhythm.
Instead of traffic and noise, you’ll find quiet jungle paths, turquoise Caribbean waters, and a small island community where nature still sets the pace of daily life.
For many visitors, arriving here feels like stepping into another world — one where mornings start with the sound of the ocean breeze and evenings end under a sky full of stars.
A Residency Designed for Rest and Reflection
The Lighthouse Island Residency was created for people who need time to reset while still having the option to stay lightly connected to their work.
Our property is intentionally small, with just eight wooden cabañas surrounded by tropical gardens and mango trees. At any given time, we host only 7–11 residents to maintain a quiet and peaceful atmosphere.
Each stay includes:
A private wooden cabaña with bathroom and private balcony with a hammock
Daily breakfast at our on-site restaurant
Access to a shared kitchen for preparing meals
Weekly laundry service and daily housekeeping
One relaxing spa treatment during your stay
A rooftop deck equipped with yoga mats for personal practice
Reliable Wi-Fi when you need it
The experience is simple, comfortable, and deeply restorative.
Why the Rainy Season Is Actually the Best Time to Visit Little Corn Island?
Our residency runs from May through November, during what locals call the Rainy or Green Season.
While some travelers assume this is a time to avoid the Caribbean, those who truly love island life know it’s actually one of the most beautiful times of year.
The island becomes lush and vibrant, tropical fruits are abundant, and the pace of life slows even further as fewer tourists visit. You will find mangoes, coconuts, papayas, and fresh seafood everywhere. Meals become a celebration of what the island naturally provides.
And the rain itself becomes part of the experience.
Tropical showers often pass through quickly, throughout the night or early morning, leaving behind cool breezes and the soothing sound of rain on palm leaves. Many residents find this rhythm perfect for reflection, writing, meditation, or simply resting.
A Unique Cultural Experience in August
If you visit in late August, you’ll also experience one of the island’s most vibrant celebrations: Emancipation Week on Little Corn Island.
This annual celebration honors the island’s Afro-Caribbean heritage with music, food, cultural traditions, and community gatherings. It’s a beautiful opportunity to connect with the local culture while still enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the island.
Mornings That Feel Completely Different
One of the things guests remember most about their time here is how different the mornings feel.
Instead of rushing into emails or meetings, you might start your day sipping fresh tropical fruit juice or delicious Nicaraguan coffee while looking out over the Caribbean Sea. Some residents stretch or practice yoga on the rooftop deck as the island slowly wakes up.
Others take barefoot walks along jungle paths or quiet beaches before beginning their day.
The simple rhythm of island life naturally invites you to breathe deeper, think more clearly, and reconnect with what truly matters.
A Space for Those Who Give So Much to Others
Many of the people drawn to this residency are individuals who spend their lives helping others grow and heal.
Business owners, high-achievers, Yoga teachers. Coaches. Therapists. Creatives. Entrepreneurs. People who care deeply about their work but also recognize the importance of stepping away for a moment to restore their own energy.
Here, you’ll find the space to reflect, create, and return to yourself without pressure or distraction.
An Invitation to Reset
If you’ve been feeling the need to slow down, gain clarity, or simply spend time in a peaceful natural environment, the Lighthouse Island Residency may be exactly what you’re looking for.
With a small community, quiet surroundings, and the gentle rhythm of island life, it’s a place designed to support rest, creativity, and personal renewal.
If this experience speaks to you, we invite you to learn more and apply for the Lighthouse Island Residency on Little Corn Island.
